I was half drunk and sitting in a cab. The cabbie greeted me with his Camel cigarrette. Late nite, deep into the nite.

I heard the chat on the radio. I gazed my old neighborhood that looked so strange to me. The buildings now seem so fine, the buildings now seem so high. Make me dizzy, make me lost.

The citylight was so bright. The snow storm reported tonite did not arrive.

Here is my ache and here is my pain. I was quite empty to study the crowd.

The crowd of cars fishing around. The crowd of loneliness and people walkin around.

She almost killed my nerves and my heart. My phone was not ringing, not receiving her voice any more.

I spoke the language she did not know. I showed the gestures she was not care.  Late nite, deep into the nite.

I passed the road, oh, the road we walked. I passed the love, oh, the love we were.

I passed the nite, in the busy city downtown.  Late nite, deep into the nite.
