刚才在IBM.COM上发现FAA的新规定,上飞机要检查电子设备(包括手机,笔记本电脑等),为了避免在检查过程中损伤电脑,IBM专门为此写了份指南

Airline Security Precautions

Due to new FAA regulations, all electronic devices such as laptops and cell phones may be subjected to additional screening. Travelers are warned to be prepared to remove the laptop from its travel case so that both can be x-rayed separately. You may be asked to start your machine up to show that it is functional. The laptop will then be placed upon a conveyor belt to be x-rayed. To avoid possible shock damage to the hard disk drive or LCD or any PCMCIA device it is advised that attention be paid to the following procedures.

Solution
In order to minimize the risk of shock damage, the following procedures should be followed:

If you are asked to power on your computer, before placing it on the conveyor belt, please be sure to hibernate, or power it off. Use the status indicator LEDs to confirm the operation has been completed (alternately, wait for 30 seconds) and then be sure to close the lid completely.
Remove any PCMCIA cards that have a cable or antenna that extends beyond the edge of the card slot.
Do not place your laptop upside-down on the conveyor belt as this might cause LCD damage.
Additional information
The new regulations allow only one carry-on bag and one personal bag/purse or brief case.
