Thank you for contacting Linksys Customer Support. With regards to your inquiry regarding the difference of Version1s of the router with version 2, for BEFSR41, Version one has two IC boards reversed WAN port and a different power supply. Both units perform the same way there is no difference between them only the cosmetic changes. For BEFW11S4, their difference also lies in the power supply. Version 1 uses an External, 5V DC, 2.1A power supply while version 2 uses a Power Input External of, 5V DC, 3A. Version 2 of the router has its version indicated in the front of the device itself.
