Until this year I always purchased Intel processors ( about 12 motherboards an 15 cpus since 3 were dual processor machines.)
When Intel announced Centrino and no open source Linux support was available, I decided to switch to AMD.
Since then we have purchased Asus AM766 single processor XP1900+, and 2 Gigabyte 7DPXDW-P with 2 MP2200+ processors each. So we are now upto 5 AMD processors.
I will never ever buy another CPU from Intel without the open source drivers available....
I have been an MSDN professional subscriber for last 5 years. Since I decided never to work with non-open source software again, I did not renew my subscription.
So last 5 years they have gotten about $25,000 from me.
No more.
